Mud Cloth Adventures in July
I started the month of July by exhibiting my mud cloth painting at The Flan Club in Binghamton, N.Y.  It is a restaurant on Henry Street about a block from the Binghamton Mets Stadium.  It is owned my a wonderful woman named Nuria Rodriguez Padro.  She runs it with her mother who is a very good cook.  It is a small and charming place to eat.  I hung my paintings on a earth tone wall.  My work goes well  there.  My artwork was scheduled to be on display for the month of July.  When I arrived last Thursday to pick up my paintings, I was pleased to find that I sold two paintings and was asked to keep my artwork up for another week.  I and glad to hear that the patriants of the restaurant enjoys my work.  I am waiting to hear from Nuria to find out when she would like me to take my mud cloths down.   The Flan Club was a nice surprise.

On SaturdayJuly 31, I  ended  ythe month by conducting a mud cloth demonstration at the Family Fun Faire at Central United Methodist Church in Endicott, N.Y.  It was well received by the community and the church members.  The people enjoyed watching me paint with mud and learning about African tribal symbols.  Some of the children tried their hand at painting while the crowd took a closer look at my mud collection from around the world.

Moving Into August
Now it is August.  It is time for me to start making plans for my mud cloth workshop in the African Village at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.  The Fair runs from the end of August into the beginning of September.   We usally have about 50 - 75 people stop by the tent while I am there.   I am hoping that we have a big crowd this year.  I missed it last year because I was in Maryland.  I was told people were looking for mud cloth painting.  Well this year I will be there and I hope to see all the mud cloth painters there too.  I think we will have alot of fun!
